CoSHH Assessment Workshop

22 March 2007 08:45 - 16:30 Venue: SSG Training & Consultancy, Valley House, Valley Road, Plympton, Plymouth, Devon, PL7 1RF The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1999 (CoSHH) were originally introduced in 1988. The general principles of carrying out a suitable and sufficient assessment are still one of the main functions. Employers have a duty to assess the processes that use or generate hazardous substances within the workplace to identify the potential of causing harm to their employees and/or others. Course Objectives: Delegates will gain: · A good understanding of employers responsibilities for potentially dangerous substances; · A practical and theoretical application of the principles of CoSHH assessments; · Confidence to conduct their own CoSHH Assessments within the workplace.

Eligibility information:
Any person with responsibilities for processes that utilise or generate, as by products, hazardous substances. Such people may be Safety Representatives, Safety Managers or Production Managers.

Expiry information:
Delegates will be assessed on their input during the practical exercise and their feedback. Successful deleagtes will receive SSG certification which lasts 3 years.
