This is the ‘how to reduce the amount of time you spend managing people issues at work, whilst making the time given to managing these issues more effective’ workshop. It provides an invaluable introduction to counselling skills. A practical day, it looks to develop and enhance active listening skills; gives participants practice in effective communication; the ability to set and manage relationship boundaries and knowledge as to when to refer employees on to professional support. As a result, they will be able to manage difficult issues more effectively and efficiently, leaving more time left to focus on the business.

An understanding of mental health issues (stress, anxiety, anger or depression) in the context of managing people
Know how much you can do and what you can’t do. Understand the need for and appropriateness of onward referral.
