Introduction:

An Appointed Person is someone who can take charge if an injury or illness ocurrs.  they complement the skills of a qualified First Aider and provide support in his or her absence.  The course covers basic First Aid and should not be used as an alternative to full First Aid at Work Training.

HSE Approval and Quality:

The one day First Aid Appointed Person is certificated by SSG and subject to SSG's internal quality monitoring procedures.

Who Should Attend?

The course is suitable for a wide range of persons from all industries to include managers, supervisors, operatives, office staff or any person who has been carefully selected to ensure that they are capable of taking on the responsibilities of a First Aid Appointed Person.

Pre-Requisites for Delegates:   There are no pre-requisites for delegates attending the First Aid Appointed Person course.   Course Objectives:   Delegates will receive basic training and will be given the opportunity to apply practical knowledge whilst ensuring that they have: A good understanding of the basic principles of first aid The ability to respond confidently in the event of an emergency when a First Aider is not present The confidence and ability to provide the appropriate basic first aid when required

Informal training sessions, highly participative classroom-based discussions, videos and various practical examples and exercises using manikins, bandages, dressings and other equipment provided.
